Early in my studies, when I first compiled a list of people I knew well who had hard Moon-Saturn aspects, the one word that lept off the list as PRIDE. Honest pride, not grandiosity. Pride anchored in something. These were all "self-made" men and women who were realistically proud of what they'd made of themselves and how they had conducted themselves. - Of course, there is much more to the aspect (other sides, other nuances), but this honest pride continues to come to mind when I first see one of these aspects.
Agreed, I have a Venus-Saturn opposition in the 12th & 6th houses in my birth configuration. Only a few years ago, I had the opportunity to view Saturn through a long-range telescope and see Saturn and its rings up close and personal. It was also an opportunity to speak directly with this massively enigmatic planet. As you might imagine, the struggle to transform how the opposition shows up in my life was long and arduous. After our direct encounter, a grand shift in my most personal relationships broke through a lifelong barrier, and slowly I came to understand what I term the "Alchemy of Saturn in Love". This is the foundation of a story I both am living and writing every single day. The spark, naturally, was an asynchronous meeting 12+ years ago with someone who informed me of the no-bounds rule of Love. every day. Should I again be the architect of another go-around on Planet Earth, I will incorporate an equally strong connection point a benefic and Saturn.
From an obscure Marc Edmund Jones article. With Moon square/opposed Saturn as the nearest exact aspect: "your major problem in life is in the making of basic personal decisions, or in obtaining and integration of your breadth of sensitiveness on the one hand and your diversity of interests on the other. You are apt to surrender to disillusionment too easily."
I have found that Moon afflicting Saturn shows a conflict between doing ones' duty and taking care of oneself. It's like in doing what you know you have to do, it creates friction around one's personal needs. Usually these people have to decrease their "shoulds" and eliminate some rules to take care of themselves and others more appropriately (or being taken care of by others), and/or decrease their sentimentality and change their habits to do what must be done by necessity.
Hi Daniel! Yes, Ray's a favorite of mine. I have Moon square Venus with both sesquisquare Saturn in a Hammer of Thor. My Moon, Venus, and Saturn have truly been "hammered" into good shape this life!
I have a natal Moon square Saturn. I’m in my late sixties, so can claim some perspective. I would have to say that, by and large, it manifested pretty much in text book fashion. I am aware of the constructive side of this square, and have manifested that to a limited degree, but I would caution against the new age-ish temptation to say that all aspects are good aspects. It’s a hard aspect, no ifs, ands or buts. Hardship is, as we all know, a necessary ingredient for growth, but too much of it can also crush growth.
I agree - which is why I'm always careful to mention the difficult possibilities too, even if just in passing. The problem is, that's largely what 90% of the textbooks focus on - and I've seen the damage that's done amongst newcomers to the subject--including myself. (As someone born with a t-square to Saturn-Moon in the 1st house, I'm all too aware of the destructive potentials - it took me a long time to realize the gifts it brought me as well.)
Yup. Moon conjunct Saturn in Scorpio in the 8th. The richest work I have done, which has now become a life long asset, is the intuitive healing studies done while in my 30’s. This psychic training changed my life. Also, having no earth element represented. Saturn has been an anchor as well as a bull s@@t detector. Now, whilst having progressed sun in my Capricorn ruled 10th house, I have gone back to work, post retirement. And it is now that I recognize most fully the benefits, grounding and wisdom gained in my earlier years.

How interesting.

Robert nice to see you on these threads… I can vouch for Saturn Moon dynamics alas.

I have moon conjunct Saturn in Scorpio.
I’ve always felt that intensity and use it for my music as well.
The image for me is a teenager, beating on the keys of her wooden xylophone so hard that it chips the keys and changes the pitch.
If I recall correctly, Miles Davis also has Saturn conj. Moon in Scorpio.
